A different way forward, one step at a time.
When life or a relationship feels stuck, talking about the problem only goes so far. Together we'll slow down and work with what's actually happening, inside you and between you and the people you love, so real change can take root.

Hi, I'm Gerry.
Gerry Bethel, MS, LPC · Licensed Professional Counselor, Missouri
Master of Science in Clinical Counseling, Central Methodist University
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected can be incredibly isolating. My work goes beyond managing symptoms. I help people get to the core of who they are, see the patterns that keep them stuck, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and the people they love.
I'm trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, two evidence-based approaches to couples therapy, and I work with individuals, couples and families from my office in St. Peters and online across Missouri.

Who I help
Individuals
Teens and adults facing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, or a sense that something needs to change but you're not sure what.
Couples
Partners who feel distant or keep having the same fight, couples healing after infidelity, and those preparing for marriage who want to start strong.
Families
Families navigating conflict, parenting challenges, divorce, adoption or a hard season, who want to understand each other and reconnect.
Common concerns I work with
How I work
We won't just talk about the problem. We'll work with what's happening in the room.
My approach is experiential and relational. Insight matters, but lasting change usually comes from experiencing something different: noticing what you feel as it happens, understanding the patterns between you and the people closest to you, and practicing a new way of responding with support.
Sessions are warm and non-judgmental, and I'll also be honest with you. Good counseling should feel safe and still move you forward.
Faith, if you want it
I'm a Christian, and for clients who want their faith to be part of counseling, I'm glad to make room for it. If you'd rather keep faith out of it, that's completely fine too. It's your choice, always.

Frequently asked questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes. Request an appointment online or call or text (636) 336-8382 to set up your free 15-minute consultation.
Do you see clients in person or online?
Both. My office is at 1555 Kisker Rd, Suite 131, in St. Peters, and I also meet by secure video.
Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
Not at all. I welcome clients of any faith or none. If you'd like faith to be part of counseling, we can include it; if not, we won't.
How do couples and family sessions work?
Usually everyone involved attends together, since the goal is to change what happens between you. Sometimes an individual session is helpful along the way, and we'll decide that together.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm, that I'll explain in your first session and in your intake paperwork.
What if I'm in crisis?
Counseling isn't an emergency service. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Ready to take the first step?
